We had the perfect cat. But we had to give it back.
My wife and children had been begging me to let them get a cat, despite the fact that me and my son are both allergic to cats. But we’ve never tried before so we gave it a shot.
It didn’t work out. Too much sneezing, coughing and watery eyes. So “Patches” had to go back to the animal shelter, amid tears all around.
I got to thinking: Why do we love pets so much? I think the answer is that we want to love and be loved. We can love on our pets and they give us a certain kind of love also.
People want love and they want to love. It’s that simple. Jesus knew that and he spent time with people who needed love.
When times are tough, believe it or not, if you start thinking about others, it can take the pressure off yourself. You can even use your struggle to the benefit of others if you share what you’re going through and allow others to help you.
It all comes back to how we love others. My kids sure enjoyed loving on the cat! We should love others even more.

Awww, he really was the perfect cat…even if we only had him a few days.
